West brom some steps away to sign Erik Pieters replacement on a permanent deal…

There are three significant transfer deals involving Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) and West Bromwich Albion (West Brom) that are expected to be finalized this weekend.

Both managers, Gary O’Neil of Wolves and Carlos Corberan of West Brom, are eager to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window. This reflects their commitment to enhancing their teams’ performance for the upcoming season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves):

Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to complete two key transfers. Firstly, they are in the final stages of acquiring Brazilian prodigy Pedro Lima. This 17-year-old right-back, currently with Sport Recife, was initially targeted by Chelsea, but Wolves managed to intervene successfully. The transfer fee is approximately €8 million (£6.7 million), plus additional bonuses. Lima is set to sign a five-year contract. The deal is progressing swiftly, with flights booked for Lima to travel to England, where he will undergo medical tests before finalizing his contract.

Secondly, Wolves are on the brink of signing Jorgen Strand Larsen, a striker from Celta Vigo. Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Wolves have agreed on a €30 million (£25.3 million) deal to bring the Norwegian international to Molineux. Personal terms are being negotiated, and the 24-year-old forward is expected to complete his move soon. The announcement might be delayed due to the significant media attention this transfer will attract.

West Bromwich Albion (West Brom):

West Bromwich Albion have had a productive week, beginning with the signing of midfielder Ousmane Diakite. Diakite, a Malian international, joined West Brom on a free transfer after his stint with Austrian Bundesliga club TSV Hartberg, where he made 34 appearances and scored two goals last season. He has signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.

Following this, West Brom are poised to sign Tobjorn Heggem from IF Brommapojkarna. The Norwegian defender, capable of playing as a center-back and a left-back, has passed his medical and agreed on a fee. Heggem’s versatility makes him a valuable addition to Carlos Corberan’s squad, especially with the potential departure of Erik Pieters and the need for a replacement. Heggem’s height will also be advantageous if Cedric Kipre leaves the club.

Both Wolves and West Brom are actively working to finalize these deals, reflecting their ambitions to enhance their squads for the upcoming season.
