Leaked: Luton Town are determined to make a swift return to the Premier League after relishing their stint there last season…
Luton Town is keen on making a quick return to the Premier League after enjoying their time there last season. They have now joined several Championship clubs in the race to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace this summer. The young forward played in just six Premier League matches last season, scoring four goals in the Premier League Two competition.
Rak-Sakyi’s standout performance came during the 2022/2023 campaign when he was on loan at Charlton Athletic, where he scored an impressive 15 goals. This performance demonstrated his strong desire for regular playing time.
Last year, Crystal Palace’s then-manager Roy Hodgson blocked a potential loan move for Rak-Sakyi to Southampton, highlighting the young forward’s importance to the squad. However, due to a mix of injuries and inconsistent form, Rak-Sakyi had limited opportunities to play.
According to reports from the Football League, Luton Town’s manager Rob Edwards is eager to bring the 21-year-old to Kenilworth Road. Edwards sees Rak-Sakyi as a vital addition to the team, aiming to help him develop and contribute to Luton’s efforts to secure promotion to the Premier League.
Blackburn Rovers have also expressed interest in the talented Palace forward. Meanwhile, Southampton, who were previously leading the race to sign him, have recently cooled their pursuit.
