Wolves are being patient in Max Kilman transfer

Max Kilman is still a Wolves player at present, and reports indicate that the club is choosing to be patient regarding his situation, having turned down two offers from West Ham United.

Kilman has become the focus of much speculation in recent weeks. Despite fans anticipating discussions around Pedro Neto or Rayan Ait-Nouri due to their impressive performances in the 2023/24 season, it is the captain who has garnered the most attention.

Wolves have set an asking price of £45 million for the English defender and have remained steadfast in this valuation, rejecting two offers from West Ham thus far.

It has now been claimed why Wanderers are exercising patience with this particular transfer saga.

Wolves anticipate that larger clubs will soon make offers for Max Kilman. West Ham’s two bids for Kilman have been turned down; their second bid reportedly included a player, although the identity of that player has not been disclosed.

Newcastle United is the only other club to have made an offer for Kilman, proposing cash along with Elliot Anderson in their bid.

We are only now just coming into July so there is plenty of time left this summer for clubs to make moves. With that in mind, Wolves are prepared to sit tight over Kilman.

Fabrizio Romano provided an update today, stating that Wolves anticipate other clubs will submit offers for Kilman.

According to him, West Ham’s two bids, including one with a player, were both rejected by Wolves. The club is holding out for approximately £45 million for Kilman and is possibly expecting interest from other major clubs later in the transfer window.

Romano emphasized that West Ham’s interest in Kilman is genuine.

“They like the player, and obviously Julen Lopetegui knows him very well, and so they are still pushing to go for him, I think they will try again.”

Previously, it has been claimed that Manchester United could come in for Kilman, having had difficulty landing other targets.

It appears that Julen Lopetegui and Sevilla have a strong interest in Max Kilman, especially given Lopetegui’s familiarity with him. They seem determined to pursue him further. Additionally, there have been suggestions that Manchester United could potentially enter the fray for Kilman, especially if they encounter challenges in securing their primary transfer targets.
