Enjoy your new home – Crystal Palace Enter Talks to Land Highly-Rated Brighton Ace in Rivalry Transfer.

Crystal Palace have reportedly begun discussions over a potentially controversial transfer move involving a Brighton & Hove Albion player as preparations for the summer transfer window gather pace. The Eagles are expected to face a crucial offseason, with important decisions looming regarding both their squad and managerial setup.

The club is already dealing with a significant change after confirmation that manager Oliver Glasner will leave his position at the conclusion of the current campaign. As a result, Palace’s hierarchy, led by chairman Steve Parish, has been working behind the scenes to identify and secure a suitable successor. Since Glasner announced his departure earlier in the season, the club has had additional time to evaluate candidates and formulate plans for the future.

Resolving the managerial situation quickly will be a priority, as it will allow Crystal Palace to focus fully on strengthening the squad during the transfer market. Having clarity in the dugout would also help attract potential signings and provide direction for recruitment decisions.

According to reports from TeamTalk, Palace have already made contact regarding Brighton winger Solly March, signalling their interest in bringing the experienced attacker to Selhurst Park this summer. Brighton are understood to have held discussions with the player’s representatives and have agreed to facilitate his departure once his current contract expires.

March, who is now 31 years old, has spent more than a decade at Brighton and has become a familiar figure at the club. Following talks between both parties, it was mutually decided that this summer would be the right time to end their long-standing association. Despite approaching the latter stages of his career, the winger remains eager to continue competing at Premier League level and believes he still has much to offer in England’s top flight.

Crystal Palace are not alone in pursuing his signature. Reports indicate that at least seven Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing March, creating strong competition for his services. Any club hoping to secure the winger will need to convince him that they can offer regular opportunities and an attractive sporting project.

A move from Brighton to Crystal Palace would inevitably attract considerable attention because of the fierce rivalry between the two clubs. Transfers directly involving the rivals are relatively rare, making such a deal particularly sensitive among supporters. Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has previously described March as a “special” player, highlighting the regard in which he is held at the club.

Historically, only a handful of players have represented both Brighton and Palace. One of the most notable examples is Glenn Murray, who made the switch from Brighton to Crystal Palace in 2012. Because of the intense rivalry between the clubs, any player crossing the divide is often met with strong reactions from fans on both sides.

For that reason, March’s potential move to Selhurst Park would likely be viewed as highly controversial, especially given his long-standing connection to Brighton and his popularity among the Seagulls faithful. Although Crystal Palace have expressed their interest, completing the transfer may prove challenging due to competition from other clubs and the emotional significance attached to a move between two bitter rivals. Nevertheless, the Eagles appear keen to explore the possibility as they begin planning for a pivotal summer of change.
