Sheffield United Emerge as Front-Runners in Pursuit of Leeds United Prospect Harry Gray
Sheffield United have reportedly moved into pole position in the race to secure the services of highly-rated Leeds United youngster Harry Gray, with several Championship clubs closely monitoring the teenage striker’s situation ahead of the new season.
The 17-year-old forward is expected to leave Elland Road on a temporary basis this summer as Leeds continue to carefully manage his development following a valuable loan spell with Rotherham United during the 2025/26 campaign.
Although Gray was unable to prevent Rotherham’s relegation from League One, the young striker produced enough encouraging performances to attract widespread attention. Harry comes from one of Britain’s most famous footballing families. He is the son of former Nottingham Forest and Sunderland striker Andy Gray, while his grandfather, Frank Gray, enjoyed a distinguished career and represented Scotland at international level. Additionally, Harry is the great-nephew of Leeds United legend Eddie Gray, one of the most iconic figures in the club’s history and another former Scotland international.
The teenager’s family connections do not stop there. His older brother, Archie Gray, has already established himself as one of the country’s brightest young talents and currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur. Like his brother, Harry has been generating excitement among Leeds supporters, many of whom believe he has the ability to become a future first-team star at Elland Road.
His performances over the past season led many fans to call for his promotion into Leeds’ senior squad. However, Daniel Farke has repeatedly stressed the importance of patience and has urged supporters not to place excessive pressure on the youngster too early in his development.
